Guide for bija system
Bija System Design
Concept
Bijas are Sanskrit seed syllables representing mantras and deities in Hindu/Vedic tradition. They replace traditional fantasy "runes" with culturally authentic Indian mythology elements.
Complete Bija List
Elemental Bijas (Basic Components)
Catalytic Bijas (Deity Powers)
Design Rationale
Why Deities?
- Cultural Authenticity: Game is set in Hastinapur (Mahabharata setting)
- Thematic Depth: Each deity has rich lore and associations
- Unique Identity: Distinguishes from generic fantasy magic systems
Tier-Catalyst Mapping
Each spell tier is locked to one catalytic bija:
- Tier 1 (Pulse): Chandra → Basic mental focus
- Tier 2 (Volley): Rahu → Chaotic multi-strike
- Tier 3 (Cascade): Yama → Death-dealing power
- Tier 4 (Cataclysm): Rudra → Wrathful destruction
This creates clear progression and prevents overpowered combinations.
Unused Bijas (Special Purposes)
- Kali: Reserved for blood magic, healing, sacrifice mechanics
- Vishnu: Teleportation rituals (coconut recipes)
- Hanuman: Physical buffs (Warrior's Blessing)
- Indra: Magical buffs (Scholar's Focus)
Item Properties
All bijas are:
- Stackable: Yes
