Skill Mechanics Reference

Complete mechanical breakdown of all 16 skills in Legends of Hastinapur.

Combat Skills

Attack

  • Function: Increases accuracy with melee weapons
  • Training: Deal damage using Accurate stance (4 XP per damage)
  • Unlocks: Better swords, maces, spears at 10/20/30/40/50/60/70
  • Mechanics: Higher Attack = higher hit chance with melee

Strength

  • Function: Increases max hit with melee weapons
  • Training: Deal damage using Aggressive stance (4 XP per damage)
  • Unlocks: Two-handed weapons at various levels
  • Mechanics: Higher Strength = higher damage rolls

Defense

  • Function: Reduces hit probability and max damage taken
  • Training: Deal damage using Defensive stance (4 XP per damage)
  • Unlocks: Armor tiers at 1/10/20/30/40/50/60/70
  • Mechanics: Higher Defense = lower enemy accuracy + lower max hit from enemies

Hitpoints

  • Function: Your HP pool (max 108 at level 108)
  • Training: Gain 1.33 HP XP for every 1 damage dealt
  • Unlocks: N/A (always active)
  • Mechanics: Level 1 = 10 HP, Level 99 = 99 HP, Level 108 = 108 HP

Ranged

  • Function: Accuracy and damage with bows/crossbows
  • Training: Deal damage with ranged weapons (4 XP per damage)
  • Unlocks: Better bows at 1/10/20/30/40/50/60/70
  • Mechanics: Distance-based combat, ammo required

Magic

  • Function: Spell effectiveness
  • Training: Cast spells (XP varies by spell)
  • Unlocks: Spells at various levels
  • Mechanics: Elemental runes required, combat + utility spells

Prayer

  • Function: Activate divine buffs
  • Training: Bury bones, complete prayer quests
  • Unlocks: Prayers at 1/10/20/30/40/50/60/70
  • Mechanics: Drain prayer points, recharge at altars

Gathering Skills

Mining

  • Function: Extract ores from rocks
  • Training: Click rocks, wait for ore (20-100 XP per ore)
  • Tool: Pickaxe (Bronze→Iron→Steel→Mithril→Adamant→Rune)
  • Resources: Copper, Tin, Iron, Coal, Gold, Mithril, Adamant
  • Mechanics:
    • Success rate based on Mining level + pickaxe tier
    • Ore respawns after depletion
    • Higher level = faster mining

Woodcutting

  • Function: Chop trees for logs
  • Training: Click trees, wait for logs (25-200 XP per log)
  • Tool: Axe (Bronze→Iron→Steel→Mithril→Adamant→Rune)
  • Resources: Normal, Oak, Teak, Maple, Sandalwood
  • Mechanics:
    • Success rate based on Woodcutting level + axe tier
    • Trees deplete and respawn
    • Higher level = faster chopping

Fishing

  • Function: Catch fish from spots
  • Training: Click fishing spots, wait for fish (10-100 XP per fish)
  • Tools: Small Net (1), Fishing Rod (5), Harpoon (35)
  • Fish: Shrimp, Rohu, Pomfret, Catfish, Goonch
  • Mechanics:
    • Success rate based on Fishing level
    • No tool upgrades (tools unlock by level)
    • Different spots for different fish

Hunting

  • Function: Catch animals/creatures
  • Training: Set traps, track animals (various XP)
  • Tools: Snares, box traps, nets
  • Resources: Rabbit fur, bird nests, rare pelts
  • Mechanics:
    • Passive trapping (set and wait)
    • Active tracking for big game
    • Higher level = rarer catches

Production Skills

Cooking

  • Function: Turn raw food into healing items
  • Training: Cook food on fires/ranges (various XP)
  • Tools: Tinderbox (for fires), cooking ranges (better success)
  • Foods: Rohu, Katla, Hilsa, Pomfret, Surmai (heals 3-14 HP)
  • Mechanics:
    • Burn chance decreases with level
    • Ranges reduce burn chance vs fires
    • Each fish has "stops burning at" level

Smithing

  • Function: Forge weapons and armor
  • Training: Smelt ores, smith items (various XP)
  • Tools: Furnace (smelting), Anvil (smithing)
  • Products: Bronze→Iron→Steel→Mithril→Adamant weapons/armor
  • Mechanics:
    • Ore + coal ratios (Iron = 1:0, Steel = 1:2)
    • XP based on item complexity
    • Level requirements to smith each tier

Crafting

  • Function: Create items (jewelry, pottery, etc.)
  • Training: Craft various items (various XP)
  • Tools: Chisel, needle, molds
  • Products: Rings, amulets, armor pieces
  • Mechanics:
    • Different materials = different products
    • Level unlocks new recipes
    • Some items require multiple steps

Fletching

  • Function: Create bows and arrows
  • Training: String bows, fletch arrows (various XP)
  • Tools: Knife (cutting), bowstring (stringing)
  • Products: Shortbows, longbows, arrows
  • Mechanics:
    • Logs → unstrung bow → strung bow
    • Arrows: shaft + heads + feathers
    • Higher level = better bows

Support Skills

Herbalism (NEW)

  • Function: Brew potions and Ayurvedic remedies
  • Training: Brew potions at brewing stations (various XP)
  • Tools: Mortar & pestle, brewing station
  • Products: Low tier (Guard Captain) → Mid tier (farmed) → High tier (boss drops)
  • Mechanics:
    • Primary ingredient (herb) + secondary (monster drop)
    • Level requirements per tier (1/30/60)
    • XP reward per successful brew

Farming (NEW)

  • Function: Grow herbs for Herbalism
  • Training: Plant seeds, harvest herbs (various XP)
  • Tools: Seed dibber, rake, watering can
  • Products: Tulsi, Ashwagandha, Brahmi, Amla, Saffron, Giloy
  • Mechanics:
    • Plant seeds in patches
    • Growth time: 20-40 minutes
    • Harvest yields: 3-6 herbs per patch
    • Disease chance (reduce with compost)

Tapasya (Prayer Enhancement)

  • Function: Generate prayer energy through meditation
  • Training: Meditate at sacred sites (passive XP)
  • Tools: Prayer mat, sacred location
  • Products: Prayer restore, prayer buffs
  • Mechanics:
    • Passive training (AFK-able)
    • Converts time → prayer energy
    • Sacred sites give bonus XP

XP Formulas

Combat Skills

XP = damage_dealt × 4
Hitpoints XP = damage_dealt × 1.33

Gathering Skills

XP = base_xp × (1 + tool_bonus)
Tool bonus: Bronze 0%, Iron 5%, Steel 10%, etc.

Production Skills

XP = recipe_base_xp × product_tier_multiplier

Level Requirements

Vertical Slice (1-50)

  • All skills trainable to 50
  • Basic recipes/methods unlocked
  • F2P cap demonstration

Post-Vertical Slice (50-99)

  • Advanced methods (Members)
  • Elite recipes
  • Rare resource access

Endgame (99-120)

  • Virtual levels
  • Prestige methods
  • Completionist content

Skill Synergies

Mining + Smithing: Mine ores → Smelt bars → Smith gear
Woodcutting + Fletching: Chop logs → Fletch bows/arrows
Fishing + Cooking: Catch fish → Cook food → Heal HP
Farming + Herbalism: Grow herbs → Brew potions → Combat buffs
Hunting + Crafting: Hunt animals → Craft leather armor
Prayer + Tapasya: Unlock prayers → Generate energy faster

Skill Capes (Level 99 Reward)

Each skill at 99 grants a skill cape:
  • Stats: +9 to all stats
  • Perk: Skill-specific bonus (e.g., Cooking cape = no burn)
  • Cosmetic: Shows mastery

Max Cape (All 99s)

Requirements: Level 99 in ALL skills
Stats: +15 to all stats
Perk: All skill cape perks combined
Cosmetic: Ultimate achievement

Completionist Cape (200M All)

Requirements: 200M XP in ALL skills
Stats: +20 to all stats
Perk: All perks + bonus drops
Cosmetic: Legendary status
